Hand and power tools for factory maintenance and assembly teams

GODOWN sources hand and power tools for factories across Delhi NCR, for maintenance, assembly and tool-room teams: spanners, sockets, torque wrenches, insulated and non-sparking tools, pullers, drills, angle grinders, impact wrenches and pneumatic assembly tools. Most plants buy them in two ways: kits when a team is set up, and single replacements when a tool wears out, breaks or goes missing from the crib.

A good replacement indent names the tool, size and drive, tagged to the team or line that uses it; a new kit goes as one indent with a line per tool. Code each tool in your item master once, with size, drive and material, and every later replacement is like for like.

Through GODOWN, tools come on one PO for the plant at competitive prices, with delivery tracked to your gate and a GST tax invoice. A tool that fails under the maker's warranty is returned through us, not chased by phone.

What we source

Hand & power tools we source for plants

  • Spanners and wrenches

Double open-end, ring, combination and adjustable spanners in chrome vanadium steel, in metric sizes, and in AF sizes for imported machines.

  • Sockets and ratchets

Sockets in 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 inch square drive, 6-point or 12-point, with ratchets, extensions and universal joints. Impact sockets in chrome molybdenum steel are made for impact wrenches.

  • Torque wrenches

Click, dial and electronic torque wrenches, specified by range in Nm and square drive, and supplied with a calibration certificate.

  • Screwdrivers, pliers and keys

Slotted and cross-head screwdrivers, combination, nose and circlip pliers, and hex and star keys. Circlip pliers come in internal and external types, straight or bent.

  • Insulated tools

Screwdrivers, pliers, cutters and spanners made and tested to IEC 60900 for work on or near live parts up to 1,000 V AC.

  • Striking and non-sparking tools

Hammers, mallets, chisels and punches, plus non-sparking tools in aluminium bronze or copper beryllium for solvent stores and other hazardous areas.

  • Pullers and bearing tools

Two- and three-jaw mechanical pullers, hydraulic pullers and bearing separators for removing bearings, pulleys and gears without damaging the shaft.

  • Drills, drivers and angle grinders

Corded and cordless drills, impact drivers, and angle grinders in 100, 125, 180 and 230 mm sizes for maintenance and fabrication. Discs and wheels are on the abrasives page.

  • Impact wrenches and pneumatic tools

Air and cordless impact wrenches, air screwdrivers, nutrunners and die grinders for assembly lines and heavy bolting.

Spec checklist

What to put on a hand & power tools indent

Vendors quote the right part first time when the indent carries these. Missing details mean a round of calls before anyone can quote.

  • Size and drive: spanner size in mm (or AF inches), socket drive size and 6- or 12-point, screwdriver tip size and blade length.
  • Material: chrome vanadium for hand tools, chrome molybdenum for impact sockets, and aluminium bronze or copper beryllium where you need non-sparking tools.
  • Torque tools: range in Nm, click, dial or electronic, square drive, accuracy, and a calibration certificate from an NABL-accredited lab carrying the tool's serial number.
  • Insulated tools: each tool marked to IEC 60900 with the 1,000 V rating.
  • Corded power tools: supply voltage (230 V single phase), input power in watts, chuck or disc size, and no-load speed in rpm, which must not exceed the rating of the discs you use.
  • Cordless tools: platform voltage, battery capacity in Ah, number of batteries and charger, or 'bare tool' if you already hold that maker's batteries.
  • Pneumatic tools: air consumption at working pressure (usually rated at 6.2 bar), inlet thread, free speed, torque range, and clutch type for assembly tools.
  • Kits: a list of every piece with its size, plus the case or trolley, so every quote covers the same set.

Questions

Buying hand & power tools: common questions

How often should a torque wrench be calibrated?

ISO 6789 recommends recalibration every 12 months or 5,000 cycles, whichever comes first, unless your own quality procedure sets a shorter interval. Recalibrate straight away after a drop, an overload or a repair. Ask for a certificate from an NABL-accredited lab that carries the wrench's serial number, and store click-type wrenches at their lowest setting so the spring doesn't take a set.

Can I use normal chrome sockets on an impact wrench?

No. Hand sockets are made from chrome vanadium steel and hardened for the steady torque of a ratchet; on an impact wrench they can crack or shatter. Impact sockets are made from chrome molybdenum steel, with thicker walls and usually a black finish, and they absorb repeated blows. Use impact-rated extensions and adaptors too, and write 'impact' and the drive size on the indent.

What does a 1000 V insulated tool rating mean?

It means the tool is made and tested to IEC 60900 for work on or near live parts up to 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC. Each tool is tested individually at a much higher voltage before it leaves the factory, and is marked with the double-triangle symbol and the 1,000 V rating. Insulated tools are one layer of protection: they do not replace isolation, permits and electrical PPE.

Should we standardise cordless tools on one battery platform?

Usually, yes. Batteries and chargers are specific to a maker and its voltage platform, so mixing brands means more chargers, more spare batteries, and tools that sit idle when the right pack is flat. Once you standardise, indent new tools as 'bare tool' to avoid paying for batteries you already hold, and buy batteries as their own line when old ones lose capacity.
