Pneumatic components for factories and production lines
GODOWN sources pneumatic components for assembly lines, packaging machines and process plants: cylinders, solenoid valves and manifolds, FRL units, push-in fittings and tube, flow controls, grippers and vacuum parts. Most of it is small, inexpensive per piece and needed in a hurry, which suits an indent raised straight from the shop floor.
Most pneumatic parts carry a code on the label, and much of the range is standardised: ISO cylinders and common valve functions are made by several brands to the same dimensions. That makes 'equivalent allowed' a useful line on a pneumatics indent, as long as the thread form, coil voltage, mounting and any magnetic piston for position sensors are written down. Codes already in your item master make repeat orders exact.
GODOWN turns a long list of valves, fittings and tube into competitive quotes, one PO per plant and delivery tracked to your gate with a GST tax invoice. A valve that has stopped a line is raised as urgent and prioritised.
Pneumatics we source for plants
Pneumatic cylinders
ISO 15552 profile and tie-rod cylinders (32 mm bore and up), ISO 6432 round cylinders (8 to 25 mm), and compact and guided cylinders for pushing, clamping and lifting. Cylinders built to the same ISO standard share mounting dimensions across makers.
Solenoid valves
3/2 and 5/2 valves, single or double solenoid, and 5/3 valves with a centre position, switching air to cylinders. Mounted inline, on a sub-base or on a manifold or valve terminal.
FRL units
Filter, regulator and lubricator sets that prepare air at each machine: the filter removes water and particles, the regulator sets pressure and the lubricator adds oil mist where components need it.
Push-in fittings and tube
Push-in fittings with polyurethane or nylon tube sized by outside diameter (4, 6, 8, 10, 12 mm), threaded into ports in BSPP, BSPT or NPT.
Flow controls and check valves
Flow control valves set cylinder speed, usually by metering the exhaust air; quick exhaust valves speed up the return stroke, and pilot-operated check valves hold a cylinder in position.
Rotary actuators and grippers
Rack-and-pinion and vane actuators turn valves, flaps and parts; parallel and angular grippers pick and place on assembly cells.
Vacuum components
Vacuum generators (ejectors), suction cups and vacuum switches for pick-and-place, carton handling and packaging lines.
Couplings, silencers and gauges
Quick-release couplings, exhaust silencers, pressure gauges and pressure switches that keep the air line serviceable.
What to put on a pneumatics indent
Vendors quote the right part first time when the indent carries these. Missing details mean a round of calls before anyone can quote.
- Make and full part number from the label. Most codes carry the type, bore and stroke or the valve function and port, so vendors can quote the exact part or a close equivalent.
- Cylinders: standard (ISO 15552, ISO 6432 or compact), bore and stroke in mm, single or double acting, cushioning, magnetic piston for position sensors, mounting (foot, flange, clevis, trunnion) and rod-end thread.
- Valves: function (3/2, 5/2 or 5/3 with its centre position), single or double solenoid, port size (G1/8, G1/4), coil voltage (24 V DC, 230 V AC), connector type, and whether it sits on a manifold.
- FRL units: port size, filter rating in microns, regulator pressure range, and whether a lubricator is needed at all.
- Fittings and tube: tube OD in mm, port thread (G1/4 BSPP, R1/4 BSPT, 1/4 NPT), shape (straight, elbow, tee), tube material and colour, and length of tube in metres.
- Working pressure, if the line runs above normal plant air pressure, or if the component handles vacuum.
- Quantity, the machine and station, and whether an equivalent brand is acceptable.

Buying pneumatics: common questions
Can I replace a pneumatic cylinder with another brand?
Often yes, if it is built to an ISO standard. ISO 15552 cylinders (32 mm bore and up) and ISO 6432 round cylinders (8 to 25 mm bore) share mounting dimensions and rod threads across makers for the same bore, so an equivalent bolts on. Compact and guided cylinders are less standardised, so give the old part number and ask for the fit to be confirmed in the quote. Match the cushioning and magnetic piston too, or the end-of-stroke sensors may not switch.
What is the difference between a 5/2 and a 5/3 solenoid valve?
A 5/2 valve has five ports and two positions, so it drives a double-acting cylinder out or in. A 5/3 valve adds a centre position for when the cylinder must stop or hold: closed centre blocks all ports, exhaust centre vents both sides so the rod moves freely, and pressure centre feeds both sides. A single-solenoid 5/2 valve springs back when power is lost; a double-solenoid valve stays in its last position.
Is my pneumatic fitting thread BSP or NPT?
Most European and Asian components use BSP threads, G for parallel and R or Rc for taper, while NPT appears on equipment of American origin. The two differ in thread angle (55° for BSP, 60° for NPT) and in pitch at most sizes, so they may start but will not seal. Check the marking on the valve body or the machine manual, or measure with a thread gauge, and put the thread type on the indent.
What should I do when a solenoid valve fails mid-shift?
Raise the indent from the machine with the code from the valve's label and mark it urgent; breakdown requirements are prioritised over routine orders, and delivery is tracked to your gate with an ETA. Allowing an equivalent brand helps, since common valve functions and port sizes are made by several brands, but write the coil voltage, connector and mounting on the indent. Keeping one spare of each valve type a line depends on avoids the wait altogether.
