Industrial lubricants for factories and plants
GODOWN sources industrial lubricants for plants across Delhi NCR: hydraulic, gear, compressor, slideway and heat transfer oils, greases, cutting fluids, food-grade H1 lubricants and maintenance sprays, in packs from grease cartridges to 210 L barrels.
Lubricants are bought against a specification, not a brand name alone. A good indent carries the product the machine uses now, its type, ISO VG grade and standard (HLP 46, CLP 220, NLGI 2 lithium complex), the pack size and the machines it serves, so every quote can be checked like for like. Getting this right matters most on hydraulic systems and gearboxes, where the wrong oil damages seals and gears.
GODOWN gets you competitive quotes against that specification, one PO per plant, and delivery to your gate with a GST tax invoice, whether the order is a case of grease cartridges or a barrel of gear oil.
Lubricants we source for plants
Hydraulic oils
Anti-wear mineral oils (HM or HLP type) in ISO VG 32, 46 and 68 for presses, moulding machines and power packs; HV or HVLP grades where temperatures swing, and fire-resistant fluids where there is a fire risk.
Industrial gear oils
Extreme-pressure (EP) gear oils such as DIN 51517-3 CLP grades for enclosed gearboxes, typically ISO VG 150 to 680; synthetic PAO or PAG oils for worm gears and hot running.
Greases
Lithium, lithium-complex, calcium-sulphonate and polyurea greases in NLGI grades 0 to 3, for bearings, chains and centralised lubrication systems. NLGI 2 is the general-purpose grade.
Compressor oils
Mineral and synthetic oils for screw and reciprocating air compressors, chosen to the compressor maker's specification; synthetic oils allow longer drain intervals.
Slideway and spindle oils
Slideway oils with tackifiers for machine-tool guideways, commonly ISO VG 68 or 220, and light spindle oils for high-speed spindles.
Cutting fluids
Soluble (water-mix) coolants and neat cutting oils for machining, plus EDM dielectric and honing oils.
Food-grade lubricants
NSF H1-registered oils and greases for food, beverage and pharma machinery where incidental contact with the product is possible.
Heat transfer and transformer oils
Thermic fluids for thermic fluid heaters, and transformer oil to IS 335 for transformers and switchgear.
Maintenance sprays and compounds
Penetrating oils, anti-seize compounds, dry PTFE lubricants, contact cleaners and chain lubricants for day-to-day maintenance.
What to put on a lubricants indent
Vendors quote the right part first time when the indent carries these. Missing details mean a round of calls before anyone can quote.
- The OEM's specification from the machine manual or lubrication chart: type, ISO VG grade and any standard named (DIN 51524-2 HLP, DIN 51517-3 CLP, NLGI 2). A grade alone is not enough, since a VG 68 hydraulic oil and a VG 68 slideway oil are different products.
- Base oil: mineral or synthetic (PAO, PAG or ester). PAG oils do not mix with mineral oils, so say what is in the machine now.
- Greases: thickener (lithium, lithium complex, calcium sulphonate or polyurea), NLGI grade, base oil viscosity, EP additives and operating temperature. Some thickeners are incompatible, so name the current product.
- Approvals that matter: NSF H1 for food and pharma lines, and the OEM's approved list for compressors and gearboxes under warranty.
- Pack size to suit your consumption and storage, such as 1 L, 20 L or 210 L barrels for oil and cartridges, buckets or drums for grease.
- Brand, if the machine is under warranty or the OEM names one; otherwise allow equivalents that meet the same specification.
- Quantity and the machines it is for, so the store can issue it against the right equipment.

Buying lubricants: common questions
What does ISO VG mean on a lubricant?
ISO VG is the viscosity grade: the oil's kinematic viscosity in mm²/s (centistokes) at 40 °C, held within 10% either side of the grade number. An ISO VG 46 oil measures about 46 cSt at 40 °C. The grade tells you how thick the oil is but not what it is for, so a hydraulic oil, a gear oil and a slideway oil can share a grade. Specify the type and standard alongside the grade, as the machine manual gives them.
Can I switch to a different brand of oil or grease?
Usually, if the replacement meets the same specification and is compatible with what is in the machine. Match the type, grade and standard (such as DIN 51524-2 HLP 46) and check the base oil, since PAG synthetics do not mix with mineral oil. For greases, some thickeners are incompatible, such as lithium with polyurea, and a mix can soften and leak from the bearing, so purge the old grease or stay compatible. Machines under warranty may require the OEM's approved list.
What is an H1 food-grade lubricant and when do I need one?
An H1 lubricant is registered by NSF as acceptable where incidental contact with food is possible. Food, beverage, pharma and packaging plants use H1 oils and greases on machinery above or near the product zone, such as fillers, conveyors and mixers. H2 lubricants are for food-plant machinery with no chance of contact. Mark the indent H1 and ask for the NSF registration number with the quote, so a standard grade is not substituted.
How do we reduce the number of lubricant grades we stock?
Start from a lubrication chart: list every machine, its lubrication points and the specification its manual asks for. Many machines will share a specification, such as HLP 46 hydraulic oil or an NLGI 2 lithium-complex grease, so one product can cover them. Keep separate products only where the specification genuinely differs, such as H1 food-grade, PAG gear oils or high-temperature greases. Fewer grades mean fewer mix-ups in the oil store and larger orders per product.
