Industrial packaging materials for factory dispatch and stores
GODOWN sources industrial packaging materials for factories across Delhi NCR, for storing and shipping goods: stretch film, strapping and seals, corrugated boxes, BOPP tape, poly bags, bubble wrap and foam, VCI bags and paper, desiccants, corner boards and pallet sheets. Pallets themselves are under material handling. Packaging is bought in volume and repeatedly, so small differences in microns, GSM or roll length add up over a year.
Indent packaging with the full specification and the monthly quantity, tagged to the line or product it packs. Printed boxes and tapes are made to order, so approve a sample before the bulk order, and compare quotes on cost per metre or per pallet wrapped, not per roll.
GODOWN quotes your packaging competitively and puts it on one PO for the plant, with every delivery tracked to your gate and billed on a GST tax invoice. The platform is set up around how your dispatch and stores teams already work.
Packaging we source for plants
Stretch film
LLDPE film for wrapping pallets, in hand rolls and machine rolls. Cast film is clearer and quieter to unwind; blown film resists punctures better.
Strapping and seals
PP strapping for light and medium loads, PET strapping for heavy loads, and steel strapping for metal coils and very heavy loads, with matching seals, buckles and tensioners.
Corrugated boxes
3-ply, 5-ply and 7-ply boxes made to your internal dimensions, with the flute, paper GSM and bursting factor chosen for the load.
Carton sealing tape
BOPP tape in brown, transparent or printed, in 48 and 72 mm widths, specified by thickness in microns and length in metres.
Poly bags and liners
LDPE and HM bags and box liners, specified by size and thickness, with anti-static bags for electronic parts.
Protective packaging
Air bubble film, EPE foam sheets and rolls, foam profiles and partitions that stop parts touching in transit.
VCI packaging
Bags, film and paper carrying a volatile corrosion inhibitor, which protects clean, dry metal parts from rust inside a closed pack.
Desiccants
Silica gel and clay desiccant sachets for export cases and moisture-sensitive goods, sized in grams per sachet.
Pallet and edge protection
Paperboard corner boards, pallet top sheets and slip sheets, and dunnage bags that stop loads shifting in containers.
What to put on a packaging indent
Vendors quote the right part first time when the indent carries these. Missing details mean a round of calls before anyone can quote.
- Stretch film: hand or machine grade, thickness in microns, width (usually 500 mm), net film weight per roll excluding the core, and pre-stretch level for machine film.
- Strapping: PP, PET or steel; width and thickness in mm; break strength; roll length and core size for your machine or tool; and matching seals.
- Corrugated boxes: internal dimensions L × W × H in mm, ply, flute, paper GSM and bursting factor (BF) or a target bursting strength, plus printing and box style.
- Tape: BOPP, colour or print, width, thickness in microns and length in metres. Compare price per metre, as a cheaper roll is often a shorter one.
- Bags and protective packaging: size, material and thickness in microns, bubble size, foam thickness and density, and VCI grade for ferrous or mixed metals.
- Food and pharma: a food-grade declaration for anything that touches food. Pharma primary packaging, which contacts the product, normally stays with your QA-approved vendors.
- Quantity and unit: rolls, kg, pieces or bundles, the monthly quantity, and the minimum order for printed items.
- Sample approval: for new boxes, printed tape and custom foam, approve a sample before bulk supply.

Buying packaging: common questions
What micron stretch film is best for pallet wrapping?
For hand wrapping, 18 to 23 micron film suits most palletised loads; go thicker, or add corner boards, for heavy loads and sharp edges. Machine film can often be thinner, because the wrapper pre-stretches it before it goes on the load. Judge film by the cost per pallet wrapped, not the price per kilo, and check whether the quoted roll weight includes the core.
What is the difference between PP and PET strapping?
PP strapping is lighter and cheaper, and suits light to medium loads such as cartons, but it stretches and loses tension over time. PET strapping has a higher break strength, holds its tension much longer, and replaces steel strapping on many heavy palletised loads, without the sharp edges or rust. Steel strapping is still used for metal coils and very heavy loads. Specify width, thickness and break strength.
What do 3-ply, 5-ply and BF mean for corrugated boxes?
Ply is the number of paper layers: a 3-ply box has two flat liners and one fluted layer, and a 5-ply box has three liners and two fluted layers. BF, or bursting factor, rates the kraft paper's bursting strength relative to its weight in GSM, so higher-BF paper is stronger at the same GSM. Box strength depends on ply, flute, GSM and BF together, so specify all four or a target bursting strength.
When should machined parts be packed in VCI?
Use VCI when clean, dry steel or iron parts must stay rust-free in storage or transit without being oiled. The inhibitor vaporises inside a closed bag or wrap and forms a thin protective layer on the metal, which doesn't need cleaning off before assembly. It works only in a closed pack, so seal the bag, and choose a multi-metal grade if the parts include copper, brass or aluminium.
